Yay for all 4 disciplines! :cheer:

Also, I really hope IN has Lindsay and Jacob blog again. I really enjoyed their videos last year and I'd like to see that again!

Legitimately have no idea who could medal here. Brasseur/Ostiguy? No idea what the Russian/Chinese teams are like.

It definitely seems like the possibilities are open.

We have seen Zhong Xie before. Here he is at the 2013 JGP Riga Cup with a former partner, Mingyang Zhang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsWL1hMuGwo

Last year, he skated at Chinese senior nationals with a different partner, Ziyi Zhang, and placed 5th.

Their FS: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XODU5NjgwNzQ4.html

I think the other Chinese skaters are new to us.

I'm also curious to see how the Czech team stacks up.

There was a YouTube video of Poluianova and Korotkov posted in November, 2014. She was teeny-tiny. Their pair elements were impressive considering their youth. He had some trouble with the jumps. Kids at that age can change a lot in nine months, so who knows what they're like now. I'm looking forward to their performances. Here's a link to the YouTube vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_rXamz8w9w.

YES!!!!!

It starts at six! That means I'll actually be up and not miss anybody!!!!!! Thank you, Latvia! You are officially better than Slovakia...:p

JK. I'm just alluding to the fact that all the stuff at JGP Slovakia was either at 4 AM, when I wasn't up, or 9 AM, when I was in school. Now I can watch it in real time during my workout!

Why is there only 1 American pair?

TBH, no idea. We got three spots at JW...

I'm new to the JGP, so I don't really know how it works, but I am trying to learn-could somebody explain it? I would love to know how spots are awarded at these!

Why is there only 1 American pair?

Countries don't always use all their spots. Depends on readiness and what pairs they feel deserve spots and money and the like. They don't always all get used. Given the lack of alternates on the list for this event, there probably weren't enough teams that showed readiness at summer comps by the time the assignments were due.

Coverage just started

Ted just told us that of the 9 ( :disapp: ) teams competing, only 3 have competed internationally before.

So, the majority of the skaters we are watching will be new to us.

(Erm, I don't recognise any of the names! :slink: )

Not keen on the music.

Not keen on the costumes.

This looks like a VERY promising partnership for the future!
