Oh, I love Pollard's Vision! He's the one-eyed horse who won the Illinois Derby and finished 3rd in the Louisiana Derby. He is named for Red Pollard, jockey of Seabiscuit, who also was blind in one eye.

Limehouse won the Tampa Bay Derby, was 3rd in the Blue Grass, and 4th in the Kentucky Derby.

Both Pollard's Vision and Limehouse are trained by Todd Pletcher, one of the hottest NY trainers.

Limehouse is the morning line favorite at 5-2, and Pollard's Vision is at 3-1.

I'd go with Peace Rules. He's really been running well as a 4 year old and Frankel has done a great job with him especially as an older horse (but to be honest, I don't know the distance of the Stephen Foster)

The Stephen Foster is 1 1/8 miles.

Southern Image has won 5 in a row, including three G1 races.

Midway Row is improving.

Perfect Drift beat Mineshaft in this race last year.

The older horse division just hasn't thrilled me recently. I know there are some nice runners out there, but I wish I knew what really seems to have gone wrong with Funny Cide.

Well, he screwed up my box tri!

Anyhow, before the race his owners said they would be tickled if he got third place, and he ends up winning, at what, 60-1. Racing is fun because there are no certanities.

I was absolutely stunned!

I got Adoration to win the Fleur de Lis

Limehouse bmbed badly in the Ohio Derby:eek:

Which is why I never bet on horses. I never can predict if they've woken up on the right side of the stall that morning! ;)

Well, my pal Pollard's Vision ran a pretty good race. Too bad Brass Hat spoiled his party!

Those races on Saturday were one surprise after another. Loved that Colonial Colony!

Poor Limehouse; that was the worse finish of his career.

Maybe some of my Godolphin Seven Stars competition runners will finish well this coming weekend. I need points!

A bit off topic....

I am looking to find the whereabouts of a stallion. I did the basic Google Search, Ask Jeeves, etc. His name is Irish Escapade born in 1985 [ if I remember correctly.]

The searches pulled up a lot on his get, but nothing on him. I want to know if he is still alive, and if so, where he is now.

I am also interested in a mare named Foolish Lola.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas how else I may be able to find them without paying for a memebership to a service?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Johar-

Thanks so much! Can you point me toward any online sources where I can do some digging about Irish Escapade?

I really, really appreciate your help.

I worked with Escapade from the time he was foaled until he was sent to Thistledown. He was a real stinker! He's a beautiful boy - I'd love to find out if he is still alive and if so where he is now.

Crud! Six Perfections, the black mare who won the BC Mile last year, just badly lost the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Refuse To Bend wins, Soveit Song 2nd, Salselon(sp?) 3rd, Nebraska Tornado 4th.

Smarty Jones Update

I just heard that Smarty Jones will run in 3 more races this year, and will then retire to stud.

I'm sure the final race will be the Breeders' Cup Classic at 1 1/4 mile in Texas.

The other two races will most likely be two of these:

Jim Dandy (Saratoga), 3YO, 1 1/8 mile
Haskell (Monmouth), 3YO, 1 1/8 mile
Whitney (Saratoga), 3YO and older, 1 1/4 mile
Travers (Saratoga), 3YO, 1 1/4 mile
Pennsylvania Derby (Philadelphia Park), 3YO, 1 1/8 mile

And unfortunately it's because the cost of insuring him if he ran next year would be too costly. No wonder the sport is in decline. By the time people get to recognize a horse, he's retired to stud (with the rare exception of a gelding naturally). This would be like a figure skater winning the OGM, and never skating at all, even in the pros. Absurd.
