I see that Stanislava Konstantinova won the Cup of St Petersburg today. Am I wrong or she is a student of Chebotareva too?

Yes. AFAIK, she's the only other student of Chebotareva who's competing internationally. She has an inconsistency issue but she is fabulous when she's on ;)

I just was thinking of posting my birthday wishes in advance of tomorrow but you were ahead of me :)

The warmest wishes to our Mika aka grumpy cat, quirky Prince and even melon! Let all his dreams come true!!! :hap85:

21th doesn't mean anything special in Russia but in these parts of the world it is one of most important birthdays, a coming of age, so Mika is officially a big boy now:laugh:

I think he looks so much younger then his age, so he needs a passport to buy some wine. And even with passport wine-sellers would be like "good joke boy, go back to the school". I don't how, but this boy is like saved charms of a kid, appearance of a teenager and now something new has appeared - a strong-willed, considerate, responsible and resilient young man. And he is such an amazing athlete. I just can't help cheering for him. I wish him the best of sport's luck, to reach for great sport's achievments, to have a strong health and just to be happy. Happy birthday, Mika:hb:

Interview with Stanislava Konstantinova
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC08z7YdsZs
She was asked about Misha - what she can learn from him at practices, and what he could learn from her: she answered that Misha is cool-headed in every practice, he is always positive, there're no whims, he is doing everything precise and calm. She was a bit confused to say what he can learn from her, but finally said that may be her practicies are more intensive. That she prepares phisically good, she thinks it gives her a good result.

Guess what he got for his birthday present? A raving praise from Stephane Lambiel!
http://rsport.ru/interview/20160219/897025140.html

[...]Who knows, maybe come to Russia and will help your skaters. I admire the young Russian athletes, for example, (Michael) Kolyada. Also, I really like (Adya) Adian Pitkeev, so if they will need my help, then I am happy to help them.
- I remember that during the European Championship , you even dedicated a separate tweet Kolyada performance than it you so impressed?
- Before the European Championship, I've never seen it on the big competitions. And all of a sudden he comes and makes jumping very high quality, plus it is very artistic, he has a very honed movement. I see that he has everything to be a great skater and a great champion in the future. He has a huge potential, which impressed me.

Reading this, I can't help but hope he'll be Mika's choreographer next year. It's such a rare chance to have a choreographer who loves your talent like this!

Well said, Lambiel!
And it is nice to feel that we were able to recognise this talent at the early stage and become fans! Well done us :)

Any young man of 21 who can change nappies, cook dinner and jump a triple axel with equal ease has my sincere admiration but Mika is all that and so much more.
Oh and fingers crossed for that competition next week he should win it easily but you never know...

Here is link to the blog on Mika's Birthday with lots of warm wishes from his fans:

Good luck Mika :hap10:
