lol I hope the move on from the Operatic Bolero of Doom by Pyeongchang. I've been conditioned to have an anxiety attack every time it plays because the '14 Olympic season was just. so. stressful.

There's no escaping the Operatic Bolero of Doom, it's been the main theme for Nationals and Worlds since the early 2000s.

I have a question for anyone who might know. Is Nobunari Oda still commentating? Is he being replaced by Dai? I hope not. Even though I speak very little Japanese, I always thought he was so cute.

He won't be replaced by Dai. Oda usually does commentary for Grand Prix events (broadcasted by TV Asahi) and Dai will work for Fuji TV.

More info about Dai's new job as TV commentator.

According to this translation, during 2016/2017 season Dai will do live commentaries and interviews on-site for Nats, 4CC and Worlds. (my main motivation to go to Helsinki :hap10: )

In addition, Dai will be part of FujiTV Olympic 2016 Team  , for full coverage (on-site) of next Rio Olympics (05/21 August 2016) - posts with English translations

Oh I'm excited! He's been so lowkey since retiring.

Yes, Dai was less visible during the months he spent in NY. But now his agenda is quite busy!!! Maybe you already know this fan-page (in English), quite updated.

Exciting news, documentaries, videos..... And many amazing challenges for Dai-chan!!! Skating shows, tv analyst and commentator both for sport and entertainment events, dancer.... I'm so proud of him!!

They should make Dai re-inact every performance as demonstrating how it should be interpreted and performed... and let's just watch him for 2 hours :p
