Hi, I just wanted to start a fun, off-season-like, and very subjective thread.

Everyone picks what they think is the Best Pairs SP, LP, and Exhibition...and you guys can ONLY pick one for each..

I'll start:

SP- Berezhnaya & Sikharulidze- "The Lady Caliph" (2001-2002)

LP- Mishkutenok & Dmitriev- "Liebestraum" (1990-1992)

Ex- Berezhnaya & Sikharulidze- "The Kid" (2001-2002)

You should know better than to say only one. Clever people always find a way around that rule, lol.

Personnaly, the best ever Pair's long program for me is from G&G - Vocalise

We saw Sarah Hughes use this music for her pre olympic year short program and it always make me remember G&G. Every time I think that we hear Vocalise, now or in the future, we will remember them.

I love the SP of B&S at the Olympics. Master piece to me.

I love also the long program of S&P Love story. Master piece too.

G&G's Vocalise was a pro routine, so I cannot compare it with other eligible programs that have more technical (jumps & throws) difficulty, but artistically it was an absolute masterpiece. I could easily pick it as the best from all the pairs programs. However, I got locked into the categories specified in the thread.

For me Vocalise is the best Pairs program I have EVER seen - regardless of tech content, pro/am whatever. It is just genius!

However here's my faves from eligible

SP - B&S The Lady Caliph
LP - S&P Love Story/ S&Z Nutcracker equal 1st
EX - S&Z Come What May - 04 Worlds. I hope they keep this for the new season. It made me

I'm assuming "The Lady Caliph" is B/S's SP from 2002? I was pretty sure their Olympic LP was to "Méditation" from "Thaïs" by Massenet?

SP: S&P-Jalousie. while I'm not a fan of this team, I really enjoyed this program.
LP: M&D 1994-Rach. Amazing!
Ex: B&E-the one where he's dressed as a woman. Hysterical.
Pro competition: Leonova&Khvalko(sp?) Bolero. Was that ever cool.
Honourable mention: B&S Chaplin LP. That was great, too.

LP- Michkoutienok/Dmitriev's Rachmaninoff, Shen/Zhao's Nutcracker, Langlois/Archetto's Tosca (I can't help it! I just love that opera LOL), Savard-Gagnon/Bradet's Gone With The Wind

EX- Gordeeva/Grinkov's Nutcracker, and Vocalise

Ooh, I just remembered a good one----if anyone saw besides myself saw it, Elena Leonova and Andre Khvalko skating to "March with Me" by Montserrat Caballé. It was at a pro competition on TV in like, 1997. I just always loved some of the "stuff" they did, and her flexibility was

I didn't see the Leonova and Khvalko version, but March With Me is way up on my list of all-time awful skating music. All that shouting and screaming. Surya Bonaly also used it in exhibition, and I think Bourne and Kraatz. I had to cover my ears.

Yeah....poor Montserrat Caballé, you can only take that voice for so long, lol  She can sing "Madame Butterfly" for me anytime, though.

I see your point, Mathman, and ITA...but somehow they made it work that time

I don't think it matters what music those two skate too. They're moves are so jaw-droppingly different from everyone else.
