Most Annoying Commercials
This thread is the result of my extreme hatred of the commercials for Revlon. You know the ones, it starts off with singing "I believe in love..." and has Hallie Berry, Julianne Moore and two other women. It seems as if one of these commericals is on each commercial break. I can't press mute or change the channel fast enough. I certainly do not feel the need to go be any Revlon products because of these annoying commercials.
I also find commercials for Jaguar incredibly annoying. We have ones that pronounce it "Jag U ar", like the British do, instead of the American "Jagwar". I first heard this on the radio, and I swear my first reaction was, what the heck is a Jag U ar? Now they are on TV. I don't like anything that tries to make itself pompous like this.
What commercials bug you?
Self-promoting Governor Jim McGreevey commercials. McGreevey's latest budget includes nearly $2B in borrowed funds. Yet he spent millions of taxpayer dollars on so-called public service announcements that are actually self-congratulatory personal PR spots claiming he's solved the car insurance, motor vehicle and EZ Pass problems, is protecting people from cancer and AIDS, and is the champion of the environment. All this and he's not even running for re-election until NEXT year.
Meanwhile, several of his closest pals have been arrested on extortion charges, a Cabinet member was forced to resign due to a scandal over misappropriation of funds, his corrupt State Police appointee and outlandish Homeland Security wannabe were dismissed, environmental groups are outraged over his sellout for political patronage, and he got in deep dodo over family vacations billed to the State of NJ or paid for by the mob-controlled International Longshoremen's union.
Every time I see one of these commercials I want to SCREAM.
