What a loss for the the culinary world. I doubt if there would have been a Martha, Emeril, or Wolfgang without her. Tonight for dinner I am making Ratatouille from page 317 of "The Way To Cook". Bon Appetit, Julia.
I am so personally saddened by this loss. I grew up watching julia on pbs, and I have many of her cookbooks. I really feel like she is responsible for the popularization of the culinary arts in america. We wouldnt have the food network today if it wasnt for julia and some others like ghram kerr.
Its been a rough few summer months for some of my most cherished heros passing (President Reagan, Julia, Ray Charles)...but its also nice to see how much they are being appreciated and missed.
