Shawn Sawyer is one of the most flexible male skaters on the planet. I can't wait to see him skate again in the new season. I sure hope he has his jumps under his belt. His strength of course is his incredible flexibility. Simply amazing.

Oh, Ladskater, thank you so much for sharing with us the many talented skaters in Canada. I really wish the US would have much better coverage in figure skating. But, until we get our skating channel, this is my best bet to get to see the other talent out there...

PS- He has better extension in the biellmann than Plushenko.

I adore Shawns skating. His biellmann is WAYYYY better than Plushy's plus he has a spiral to beat most of the girls and the Sawyer spolit spin is terrific!!! From the test skate reports he seemed to have all his jumps but was still 2 footing the axel. I hope he'll do well under CoP. With jumps not being everything, this boy has a whole lot to offer!!!

Shawn, IMO, is totally overrated. He has nothing going for him except his flexibility. I can name many Canadian males that are better than him.

you're not the only one who doesn't care for his style...

his extension is impressive, but really Kurt's the best Canadian skater ever, those guys have a lot of skating boot to fill... and no one's really come close... (while Elvis is a great skater he can't match Kurt artistically)
