...Either that, or he just has a thing for Jewish chics. Click HERE and HERE. Forget all the product endorsements. The main perk of winning a bunch of gold medals, is that you get to hang out with other olympians of the opposite sex. Lucky bastard. :sheesh:

Pictures from a party that took place two-and-a-half months ago, and that have been all over the Net? Kinda old news.

"Was there any alcohol served at this party?"

Suppose you've heard that he was picked up for DUI? He was on the Today show about it today. I don't know what was said. One of the times I checked the other stations.

I'm totally disgusted. I'm tempted to rip every single picture of him off RG Jr.'s door. Here I was so happy that she had selected a "good" role model for herself. :p   :sheesh:  :p

On that note, should we stop putting pictures of Yags on our door? Because I don't think that I can do that.

You guys didn't really think he didn't drink. Yags drink and had a incident. I do have a problem with him driving while intoxicated. Hopefully he won't have to learn a lesson the hard way by killing someone. Hopefully this is a wakeup call to not drink and drive.

I'd put the Harry Potter pictures back up :)

Heavens, those are PAINTED onto the walls! :) She's got the OUTSIDE part of the door plastered with Michael Phelps photos.

The other day, she must have been looking over my shoulder while I was reading this thread, and she exclaimed, "Michael Phelps has been arrested?" I simply didn't have the heart to tell her the truth at that point, so I didn't. I told her she misread it. We've had enough heart to heart talks about drugs, drinking blah blah blah--I just didn't want to go there re: Phelps. But let me tell you, it broke my heart to see the disappointment on her little face. THAT's what ticked me off so much. I don't expect him to be perfect, but this was totally unacceptable and unnecessary.

Phelps is a rebel at heart. ;) Boy, if he was arrested again for DUI, I'll join him.

I like those pictures a lot!

realtor gal, you've long been one of my heros on the board, I love your post and your insights. You are obviously an intelligent woman. So with that being said... You are your daughter's idol, whether you know it or not...she doesn't come to MP to ask about the problems that confound her, she doesn't consult MP as to who she should hang around with or who she shouldn't, she doesn't discuss with MP her breaking heart when some little toad of a boy breaks her heart or hurts her feelings...You see, my dear RGII, you're mistaking "fame worship" with real love. MP will be torn off her walls soon enough, he may be replaced with someone else or the communist manifesto (an extreme choice, I know :p ) however you will be your daughter's mother for the rest of her life, when you agree and when you disagree, when you get along and when you don't and most especially when you need her and when she needs you.

I've seen all the big-a**ed posters on little girls walls for years. Imagine how the mother's of Daughters and Sons who have Michael Jackson feel!
Donny Osmand, Bobby Sherman, Vin Diesel, the Backstreet Boys are all passing fancies in a young woman's dream, parents are forever.

So don't worry about Michael Phelps too much, hon. Just use it as a talking point to show that MP is yount too, can and does make BIG mistakes, EVEN with all that Olympic jewelry and is a perfect example of how, no matter how famous you are, you can be subject to peer pressure and why is it SO important, most especially for young women, to have enough sense of self and self respect to say NO to dangerous or threatinging situations just becuase "all the other kids are doing it". Also, allow Michael to redeem himself before you tear the pictures off the wall, It's good when young people make mistakes and learn from them. Perhaps your daughter will learn that anyone can make a mistake, but it takes a really BIG person to admit when they are wrong and take steps to correct it. Your's in love and respect, sk8m8...mark

Good points, and I have thought and weighed all of them before I even posted. I am just SO disgusted. I'm telling you, it is sad that Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen are the EXCEPTIONS when it comes to conducting onesself in a proper and dignified manner. I don't care how young MP is--he should know better unless he's just totally STUPID. These athletes all think they're above the law, and, frankly, I'm sick of it. I have discussed peer pressure issues a lot as of late with RG Jr. Ironically, she thinks the likes of Brittany Spears and Christina Aguilera are disgusting ("They dress like hoochies...") and boys who walk around with their underwear showing "just don't realize how stupid they look and that they are NOT cool." Believe me, it's not like she even had a kid crush on the guy (THAT you can always tell...) :) She just totally admired his accomplishments at the Olympics in what is her favorite sport. To find out that he can now be spoken in the same sentence as Kobe Bryant or Dennis Rodman is disheartening.

I don't think this is it. They make bad judgements, and they think they won't get caught. Just like anyone else who breaks the law.

He's still growing, RG, be easy on him. ;) But then again, we all are even when one's wise and 200 yrs. old. :) We're always learning. We're always growing. He made a mistake. He learned from his mistakes; he isn't perfect, no one is.

And I'm sick of celebrities who commit crimes (ie Michael Jackson's child molestation cases and shhh I'm a lil' bit of a fan of him!) and feel that they can get away with it because they got fans supportin' them and protestin' to the courts and government that they didn't do it and what not. Not guilty my @$$!!!!

Lotta, :agree: ITA!

Lad, if you're not interested in any thread, you are free to ignore it. I'm not trying to be mean or anything--not all threads interest me either, so I ignore them and let those who are enjoying them enjoy them. :)

Idle, I'm so disgusted with the Phelps story that I totally forgot to tell you that your original post was amusing! I know, I know, some guys have all the luck! ;)

If it's of any interest, Bobby Sherman is a first aid specialist, and from 1988-1999, worked as an emergency paramedic for the L.A.P.D. He is currently a Sheriff in San Bernardino, where his main job is training young emergency workers. Click HERE to see a recent picture of Sheriff Bobby.
I believe that David Lee Roth also recently became a licensed ambulance attendant. There is life after rock stardom!

Oh, my GOSH!!! Is that really Bobby Sherman?! I'm SHOCKED! But it does really look like him, so I suppose it must be him! Well, I'm glad he found something productive and enjoyable to do post show biz. Didn't Eddie Haskell from "Leave it to Beaver" become a police officer, too? (Talk about irony...) :) Is there a correlation between former celebrities and law enforcement?? Hmmmm... And what's this about David Lee Roth???
