"Skate Aid"
http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cg...510EST0299.DTL
You have to scroll down to see the quote:
* A Skate-Aid ice show will be held Feb. 4 in Plymouth, Mich. The event is organized by U.S. ice dance champions Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto and also will feature Johnny Weir and Timothy Goebel.
Good for Tanith, Ben, Johnny, Tim and everyone else involved!

So many people are coming together for the Tsunami victims, it's great to see.
Thanks for posting about this.

Wonderful! I'm so pleased to see that these wonderful skaters are reaching out to the victims of the tsunami. God bless them all (the victims and the skaters).

What a very commendable thing for them all to do!

There was an article about it in the Detroit Frre Press this morning.
http://www.freep.com/sports/otherspo...e_20050111.htm
"Belbin and Agosto are still arranging final details -- such as ticket prices -- but they have been overwhelmed by the number of athletes who want to participate.
More than a dozen nationally known skaters have committed, including 2002 Olympic bronze medalist Timothy Goebel and 2004 U.S. men's champion Johnny Weir."

They just published the final roster for this event. It looks like a blockbuster.
Men: Victor Petrenko, Johnny Weir, Tim Goebel, Evan Lysacek, Fedor Andreev and Dan Hollander
Ladies: Amber Corwin and Alissa Czisny
Pairs: Orsher and Lucash, Inoue and Baldwin, Scott and Dulebohn
Dance: Belbin and Agosto, Punsalan and Swallow, Wing and Lowe
Sychro: Team Elan (Detroit Skating Club) and the Gems (novice team, Plymouth Skating Club).
Corporate sponsor Compuware donated the use of the arena, so pretty much all of the gate will go to the Red Cross Tsunami Relief Fund. Tickets are $20, with a few $100 rinkside seats with a post-show reception with the skaters.
