The international judges also picked on Tara Lipinski something fierce between her World Championship in 1997 and the 1998 Olympics. Like Miki, it made her tougher.
On the issue of whether Jenny or Bebe should go to worlds this year, I hope that we can give the USFSA and the judges at nationals the benefit of the doubt. I think that they tried to judge the contest fairly and let the chips fall as they may. I hope there were not any backroom discussions along the lines of, who should we hold back and who should we push. Jenny came out a little better on the score cards, that's that.
Having said that, this is a crucial Worlds for Jenny. The skate gods willing, it will be the only time (out of three chances) that she will be fully healthy. She needs a top ten finish heading into the Olympic year.
