Yay Jeff! I'm so happy he finally won. He and Chris Mabee just about brought down the building, and Sawyer is always great to watch. (There was a sign referring to him as Gumby. Very aptly named.)

Overall a great night of skating - certainly a step up from the short. Jeff was amazing - best I've seen him skate all season. Hope he can do that at worlds, if he does he'll be threatening for the podium with the strength of his choreography. Awesome. I love Shawn Sawyer more every time I see him. This guy could be a great future champion. Crazy flexibility -would love to see him hold that incredible spiral longer - wouldn't the ladies kill for that position? Great, steady jumps as well. If I was his coach, I'd have him working on a quad - he's got the artistry and the rest of the jumps. Sandhu actually impressed me. It wasn't a disaster, even though it wasn't his best skate. And I didn't feel like he gave up on the performance. And points for trying for the quad. I do think Jeff needs to keep working on it. Without it, these guys won't be able to seriously challenge Plushenko - without it they're dependant on him making a serious error and he's a skater that just doesn't make those very often. And I'd like to see them fighting for first place.

Actually Shawn Sawyer has done a quad in the past. It was a quad salcow...I think he was training in Ottawa at the time.

Shawn is amazing indeed with his flexibility, it's not like Plushy's Biellman, his positions are fully stretched, on the spiral and spins. The only thing is that he 2 footed the hard triples (axel and lutz) both in Sp and Lp, almost mirroring the execution and landing. If he is going to land these cleanly, he is going to make huge leap in the world rankings, even without the quad.

I'm so happy for Jeff! I loved his presentation throught the GP, and it was the first time I saw him skating. I just read an article that says he scored over 260 points! That's even higher than what Plushenko got at the GPF!! If only I could get to see the canadians championships! I wonder if he's going to the 4CC? Anyway, Congrats to Jeff
