The following skaters have been named to the world team.
It was asked at the press conference if Mira had accepted. The answer was 'she has been named and we'll leave it at that for right now'. I asked after the conference if that was the case for just Mira or for all of the skaters -- the answer was 'all of the skaters'. So that means that the following skaters have been named, but have not necessarily accepted.
By the way, the talk on some boards/lists about Jr worlds not meeting the COC requirements for the Olympics has no bearing. Skate Canada determines the qualifications for the Olympic team and the old 'top 6 at 2 grand prix or ?? place at worlds' does not exist anymore.
Jeff / Emanuel
Joannie / Cynthia
Marcoux / Buntin, Wakamatsu / Fecteau
Dubreuil / Lauzon , Wing / Lowe
World Junior Team
Chris Mabee, Patrick Chan
Mira Leung, Amanda Billings
Dube / Davison, Cronin / Shales, 3rd to be announced next week
Virtue / Moir, Karam / McGrath
