I liked Around The World in 80 Days, but I did not see the original.

I saw the original in the movie theater as a child! But I never saw the remake.

Oh wow, I have plans to rent the original sometime soon, as soon as I can. I will be sure to let you know what I think of it. I LOVE classic movies, so I am sure I will love this one.
