Interesting article, especially the part about how she defied Hitler at the 1936 Olympic games. Sonja Henie, on the other hand, was notorious for playing cozy with the Nazis and refusing to side with the Norwegian resistance.

She was still skating at 81, very admirable. For a while, I thought swedish never had a top female skater, glad I was proven wrong.

She was old. A passing is a passing, though, and that is sad. :(
It sounds like she had a long full and wonderful life. I hope her family and friends can be comforted by that. When you love someone even forever is not long enough.....
