Fumie is alive and kicking!! Good for her.

What happened to my Bebe? but the last six to skate are close.

Fumie is one of those skaters that everyone always discards, and then is surprised when she comes back. I have to say I've been very sceptical of her going to Vasiliev (he hasn't done anything for Volchkova after all), but will be absolutely thrilled if it works out.

Here is a link to the Day 2 Report on ISU's site. Fumie has been training with Nabuo Sato since Japanese Nationals because Vailiev went back to Russia, not Chicago, after the competition (probably to prepare T/M for Russian Nationals). Bebe doubled the lutz in her combination.

Yoshie Onda got higher marks in choreography and interpretation than Jenny Kirk or Beatrisa Liang.

hmmmm. I really have tried not to comment until I see it, but...

Maybe Audrey has worked some miracles.

Or maybe the PCS scores are just a bunch of hooey.

Good that Fumie had a good skate! Looking forward to seeing that, and the others.

Whoever scores higer between Fumie and Yoshie goes to worlds. Fumie has a better chance to medal at worlds than Yoshie does, so I hope it's Fumie.

Joanne Carter from Australia up in 4th is a refreshing surprise. She's been around a long time (she finished 10th at '97 or '98 Worlds). The Aussie ladies in general finished very respectably.
