Well, so far I have a very good feeling about this edition. Though even if it turns out to be just a feeling, it's still GOT TO BE an improvement over the last 2 lame editions....
So far I pretty much like everyone except that surly steelworker, who I have a feeling is going to be this edition's designated Pain In The A**. And though I found Wanda highly annoying (and I obviously was hardly the only one), I do feel sorry for her and Jonathan -- that would be just really irritating to be voted out before the game even begins. That was really kind of nasty. And I was hoping someone would pick Jonathan because man, is he hot!! However -- there are several other hotties to take his place this time around, which I guess is to compensate for the last edition, which IMO had collectively (excluding Brady and the first guy they voted out) the least attractive male Survivor cast EVER.
I want both Cody and Angie to at least both make it to the merge just so we can see Angie walk up to Cody and ask him, "Hey, what was up with the not picking me??" I didn't understand that one at all; even as some bizarre form of strategy it really makes no sense.
I am starting to understand, however, some of the controversy that has been going around regarding the portrayal of African-Americans on reality shows. They seem to pick women who have some sort of mental disorder (Omarosa on The Apprentice), whiners (Osten), or lazy people like Gervais. Then when they finally get someone like Jolanda, who seems like a very likeable woman (tho a tad on the strident side) who has it together, she's the first one to get voted off!! I would not have liked to have been on that tribe to make the decision between her and Angie, because I liked both of them.
