Okay, because this thread is absolutely hilarious, I will forgive Spyralz for picking on Evgeni AGAIN. How can the Sex Bomb costume be bad? It's so small....(the costume, people, THE COSTUME) I also liked Alexander Abt's "attacking octopus" costume, though now I won't be able to watch that program without thinking of that. Yes, Dee, the one banana costume is bad, but go look at some of the other stuff on this thread, and you won't feel as bad. (I think Mishin has a thing for bananas, check out Evgeni's shirt in the Pasadena program).
The most beautiful costume is Evgeni's black Gypsy Dance costume.
I thought Ilia's giraffe thing was the worst, but then I saw some of the other suggestions, so now I'm not so sure.
Keep those pictures coming...
Cheers,

Plushy's gold costume makes him look like c3po
But can C3PO do a Biellman spin? I don't see him with that kind of flexibility.![]()
I like the gold costume. It's very, erm, form fitting.![]()

Ah, the memories! Ah, the "Who the hell thought THIS was a good idea?"
This goes back to page one, but Pasha looks like a birthday cake in that thing.
Denise Beillman gets the prize for the most consitently bad costumes. The Jolly Green Giant trumped Godzilla, sorry Idle.
As for "Alexei Yagudin, Jungle Banana Boy": What I heard was that Mishin that Yags was a no-way for a medal, so had prepared no exhibition program. So when Yags won the bronze, rather unexpectedly, apparently Mishin got some make-up and went to the local grocery story for a costume. Yags should have left Mishin just for doing THAT!

When did they do "Caberet on Ice?"
one of the worst female dressers in figure skating programs is Irina Slutskaya. some of you may be mad w/ me saying this but, it's IMHO that she is. Here are some highlights:

Thanks all for your help in posting images. I will try eventually.
This thread has been a lot of fun. Thanks for the laughs.

Irina has an exceptionally difficult body type for the costume designers. The popular image of a skater is the long, lean Peggy Flemming type, but Irina's equally beautiful body just doesn't fit that popular image.
So, her costumer attempted to make her look long and lean. The results were good enough to be a small part of her rise the elite ranks of the sport.
So, I'm not certain I'd put her costumes into the "ugly" category. They are not among my favorites, to be sure, but I can see the effect they help to create.
