Opinions on the Graf F4000?

There are a lot of people who have the achillies problem with these boots!

My boot technician cut the back of the boot open at the top edge, on the outside (white part only), right where it would press on the tendon. He left the inside lining completely intact so there would be no lumps or stitching to hurt the ankle. Then without the outter leather holding the top of the boot straight, he spread the back open and outwards slightly. Once it was flared open, he stiched on a peice of white leather over the (now expanded) cut was.

I'm sorry if that wasn't a very clear description. I'll try and take a picure of my boot and post it here in the next couple of days to show you the difference.

It does make a difference, but the pressure (although much reduced) is still there.

Personally, I'm doing fine with the flared ankle backs.
