Pewter.
At U.S. Nationals, anyway, fourth place receives what's called the pewter medal. They do not award a pewter medal at Worlds.

pewter is very heavy and dark grey. kinda dull looking. I see Lad just wrote basically all the same stuff I just wrote, so I second Lad's description.
Hello---
I have a pewter medal from USFSA competitions. It is a dull silver, but a pretty medal.
