I'm back in my seat and ready to go. The first group of men is on the ice for their warmup. THe stands are still pretty empty, especially the lower rows (more expensive seats). I'd say that only about 1/3 of the seats are filled, if even that. By the way, Mike Slipchuk & Viktor Petrenko got a big round of applause when they were introduced as the tech specialists for the event.

Note: The following reports are copyright Golden Skate. Please, while you may provide links to reports, do not copy & paste them elsewhere. Thank you.

Please don't post in this thread (it's easier for me), use the thread for the event marked 'comments'. Thanks

And we'll be on our way in 1 minute

Notes Music: Malaguena red bolero style vest over black pants / opening strains of the very (shall I say, too) familiar music with a little chor / around for a 2footed possibly under rot 3a / and to the far end of the ice for a pretty good 3f3t combo / music picks up and the crowd is clapping along for the strt ftwrk whichi s quite nice / back to the far end of the rink for a 3z - not sure if it came right out of the footwork / combo spin is quite good with an A pos / into a back sit ch sit that could be lower but wasn't bad at all / O ftwrk has a pause for some chor 1/2 way through and then 3/4 of the way through, went well with the music / into a flysit to end the program that again could have been lower (and faster in this case) but was centered / He seems quite happy with that skate and does the flower girl's job for her in picking up something that was thrown on the ice / I didn't catch the replay of the axel to know if it was short rot or not / pb is 43.64

Notes Music: Chronologie II wearing black unitard with diag brown wavey design / a bit of chor at centre ice as the music starts / down towards me for a 3f / fly sit is well done / music is picking up a bit and to far end of ice for a 3z with both hands down turns into a 3t or maybe it was only a 2 / O ftwrk as music gets faster and louder is really well timed with it / 2a / combo spin is fast with nice sit pos - camel could be better / strt ftwrk really moves with music that is fetting even faster / sit ch sit with tuck bit of a struggle I think on the change of foot and to my eye he recentered the spin - don't know what the tech will do with that / he doesn't look all that happy as he heads off the ice / by the way - he's wearing a gold version of Michael Weiss's fancy blades / pb is 49.56

Now he comes to centre ice to take his bows -- I like this guy and did at Jr worlds as well / his pb is 52.97

The second group is on the ice for warm-up and I thought I'd fill you in on the crowd situation -- aside from the centre section across from the judges (which is the ISU & VIP section) and a few pockets in the lower rows, the stands are filling up quite nicely. The upper rows are the fullest with the most vocal fans !! (the cheaper seats which are filled with the REAL fans <G>)
