According to Elizabeth Davies, entertainment editor of the Rockford (Ill.) Register-Star, the most popular swimsuit style this season is inspired by the skating dress.

"This year, the suit du jour has a short, straight skirt a la Michelle Kwan (with either a bikini top or a tank top).

"Immediately, I took a dislike to the skirt-suit. It just screams, 'Hmm. Wonder what she’s hiding under there?'

"But then I realized there’s another side to the coin. What’s worse: Making people assume you have something to hide — or actually showing them something you should be hiding?"

It reminds me of the bathing suit my mother used to wear. I just don't want to look like my fashion sense stopped way baack when :)

That would make a good skating outfit.

ITA !
It looks really nice, and it's much better than a lot of skating dresses
I've seen (namely ice dance).
My fave is the red/black one. :)

I love that look. I wouldn't mind if they brought back the "swimming dress" for that matter...... 42

Obviously that's not a NY or LA website. Can't get a bathing suit in those or other "hot" urban areas for anything less than the price of a new Ferrari.
