    Question USFS Developmental Team?

What does it mean if you are on the Developmental Team?

Do these young skaters get some kind of financial support from United States Figure Skating? Are there juvenile and intermediate competitions that they get sent to?

Here are the national silver medalists in juvenile pairs, Emily Glassberg and Kurt Weiss (also both singles skaters).

They do get financial support from USFSA, and they are sent to North American Challenge competitions. By the time they move up to Novice and above and keep great records, they will be in Team C or Reserve Team of the team envelops.

Yes, these skaters all get some financial support from USFS (don't know how much; the amount varies depending on the USFS' annual budget).

A few of the 2005 Intermediate medalists have been given Novice assignments in the North American Challenge Skate competitions in August -- Sherry Barnes (Novice Ladies) and Piper Gilles/Timothy McKernan and Rachel Tibbetts/Eric Reinhart (Novice Dance) will compete in Montreal, while Kevin Sun and Armin Mahbanoozadeh (Novice Men), and Meg Byrne/Nathan Bartholomay and Caitlin Yankowskas/Daniyel Cohen (Novice Pairs) will be in Kansas City.
