Did anyone watch? What did you think? Am wondering whatever happened to Caryn Cadavy....also why Lucinda had 1 solo.....and that Tara can't even do a special. Also Surya was there one year but not now?
I thought it was good--only TV special where you see new costumes, new numbers and the corp numbers look rehearsed.
Not as good as last years, but I liked it. Why oh why does SOI not hire Yuka and Lucinda back? Another mystery....

Kristi, Kristi, Kristi. I do think with all those triples in an exhibition number the gal could be a top contender at this Worlds. She looked lovely, too. Now here's a skater who is age defying.
The rest of the show was the usual camels and double axels and lots of shoulder shaking.

Kristi is wonderful. She has been the biggest name as a pro because of her continued work ethic in keeping her triples.
But I think she would be very nervous to compete. Her style and range as a dancer/skater is peerless among the eligibles. Kristi can skate to such different types of music. Neither Michelle nor Sarah nor Sasha seemed to have developed this thus far. Sarah in her Fosse number earlier in her career was very close to the finesse of the pros, I think.
I hope we see a more versatile Michelle at Nationals. In the future I think Jenny will be the most versatile regarding the different types of music she can interpret well.

I think Michelle can't do a special that's not ISU approved. She would be sanctioned I think or worse. I think Irina will do the show when she has stopped competing. Makes me wonder why not Maria Butyrskaya this year?

I really enjoyed the show but had to put it on mute during the first one. Think it was called Miami Machine or something. It sure wasn't music IMHO! They are really terrible.

[c]<font size=4><font color="#C00000">Does anybody here find it a bit ironic that this was sponsered by Alberto V0-5, and throughout the show, the usually impeccably coiffed Lucinda Ruh's hair looked like a rat's nest?<font color="#0090C0">It has occurred to me that around this time last year, Caryn Kadavy was all over the TV (that Aretha Franklin Special, Divas On Ice, that Kurt Browning special), and this year she's been completely absent, although she was billed to be on that Ray Charles special...Methinks the woman might be in a family way, but of course that's only speculation.

I don't think so, as she had two boys I believe before all the pro shows brought her back in the 90's. But then, there is the 'last Hurrah' thing. I find her to be very elegant.
Lucinda was so blond, and her hairstyle was not as pretty as last years. Maybe that's why they showed her hardly at all.

I had no idea she has children. Actually, it seems as if no one wants curly hair anymore. Lucinda's hair really did look awful.

Tara is apparently completely resting at this point. It sounds like she is maybe keeping quiet about it, for fear people will say her career is over. Last year was her first year on Divas; I hope it won't be her last.

Nice show
Kristi and Yuka are the best overall skaters.
It is a treat to see Katia. She is tiny, and can generate so much power and speed.
I hope Tara will be back next year.

I don't think Bielman was ever in the Diva thing. I just miss her great looks and skating (another age defying gal). She was for a long while in the Pro rush of the early 90s.

Caryn doesn't have any childern,unless she's in the motherly way at this time. Jill Trennery is the one with the two little boys.
Nice to know I am not they only one who used the mute button.
Also was suprised that this was Kristi's first time on Diva's I thought she had been on there before.

Lucinda...the diva of spins(?) I think this probably started as a take on VHI's "Divas Live", a show starring well known female singers. The first year it was all diva types but more recent shows seem to be less diva and more who's available. Could be the same with Kat's show. It is just being shown here now to be followed by SOI. Was preempted yesterday for Kentucky bball.

I started a post on it. For the most part, I found the musical selections boring and trite and the performers annoying. What was with the poor fellow at the end helping Katarina finish her tango number?
