Hi, does anyone know what is happening to that project, its been 5 years almost since the Salt Lake olympics and the movie is still not out there.... Who know if it will happen or this project is down the drain???
I think its still a work in progress but got pushed back a bit due to scheduling and a few other issues. I think there are more details posted at the S&P board if you want to check that out for more information. I think its been put on hold for a while. Here's the link to the board and below that is the relevant information I found when I did a search.
I started to get curious about what had ever happened to this, so I decided to do a little research and I thought I'd fill everyone in on what I found out.
First of all, it looks like the full title is going to be "Olympic Love: The Salé Pelletier Story." That was new to me, the "Olympic Love" part anyway, I don't remember knowing that before. It's already been posted in this thread, but here's a link to information and a summary of the movie.
According to that, the film, as of winter 2006, was "in development."
And lastly, the first link mentions that in addition to Minds Eye, the movie is being developed by Panacea Entertainment, and here's the link to their website.
To find the blurb about s&p, click on television at the bottom of their home page, and you'll find the movie if you scroll down under television index.
So, now that I've typed that all out, it really doesn't seem like much new information, so sorry if this is all old info, but it does appear that at least the movie is still happening. Anybody else know anything more?
I would think it'd had been canned by now, it doesn't seem as important/popular now... and I don't think it'd get the ratings (it's supposed to be made for TV, right?) that it would have 4 years ago

It probably would have gotten some good attention if it had come out just prior to this year's Winter Olympics, but now it is kind of a useless exercise. Although I'm sure they're still fabulously popular in Canada, not hot enough for a movie.
You've all ready asked this question once before (I merged that thread with this one) and everyone has said everything that they know including Erica who runs Jamie & Dave's website. If anyone has any new information, I'm sure it will be posted here.
