Swedish Nationals are this week. I'll keep you posted with results as the week goes by. So far the junior men have skated their short and the junior ladies are skating right now.
Junior men;

(Nope, I didn't expect any of them to get such a good tes as they did).

Schultheiss had a meltdown, struggled with jumps during the warmup.

I was also wondering, i found the results on the internet, and what is ungdom par? I'm guessing it's a pair event, but what it the level? Is it like novice or lower? Because they only skate a free program

Yep, it's like Novice. This is the first year we've had any novice pairs for a really long time, so I think (correct me if I'm wrong anybody) that they are more at the Nationals to show themselves and try out competing, than anything else. Niklas and Angelica (our Senior pair) did the same thing a couple of years ago at Nationals. And then they just skated their free.
 
I guess they decided to go with a broad field of novice pairs rather than having two small fields of novice and juniors as the ages listed range from 9 to 15/16.

Kristoffer managed to get more points than any Swede so far! Well done Kris:bow:

TV had coverage from the Nationals today. 2 boody minutes! And that was it! Nothing more at all. This is how popular figure skating is in Sweden. Two minutes against 5 days of figure skating. Lovely... And they spoke about how sorry we should be for Lina, who'd been injured. Then they quickly mentioned Victoria and that she did great. Then they said in a *oh, btw*-voice that Kris won.
I hate Swedish sports-television.

She's 9, he's 13-something iirc. The novice pairs did perform the usual pairs elements, though not very difficult ones. No lift went above the shoulders of the guy, the trow twist was just a half turn and the throw jump was a single one at the best iirc. The death spiral was two rotations on most occasions. They also did sbs jumps, sbs spins, pair spins, spirals and step sequences.
They only competed with the freeskate and the winning tss was around 30 something.

The exhibition speaker claimed that they'd withdrawn due to illness/sickness. They performed their long program at the exhibition and also participated in a group routine with a mix of Team Surprise, Kris and a few other single skaters. (synchro has its own nats, Surprise were special guests)

I'd say that's about how popular it is with the media because the general sports journalist knows nothing about the technical aspect of figure skating. The local paper here has focused much more on Lina than on Kris, though the mens competiton was where the major rivalry would be, besides that he's had a more successful carrer than she has so far.
The arena was pretty full yesterday, considering that only one side of the rink was available.
Viktoria won fair and square and I'll start believing in Lina the day she shows that she can step up when it matters. She did a lovely exhibition routine which was her cleanest performance of the week though not perfectly clean. I didn't see any practices so I can't comment on how she did on those.

News; Even though Victoria Helgesson won the Nationals (with 10 !!!!!! points), they're still sending Lina Johansson to Europeans. Lina came second at Nationals.
It's totally unfair.
