L/T will be at nationals according to this article, if true dance and ladies will be the most exciting to watch at national. One we have two teams fighting for gold then the other we'll have many ladies fighting it out for that third and final spot.

My impression after reading this article was that they will NOT actually be competing; rather, they will be participating in the opening ceremonies of this new arena.

Can't get any plainer than that! Unless the rules have changed, I don't think anyone can defend a title without competing. :laugh:
