Just reminding everyone to check out SkateBuzz to watch!

JR Men Short is on around 4pm PT and includes Nam Nguyen (young phenom), Jordan Ju (new to JGP competing for TPE), and Bela Papp (FIN)!!!!

I watched the first few Jr Men...not impressed. Jordan had decent jumps...wonky landing on this 3Lz combo but otherwise good, spins were dreadful...painfully slow! Nam's program is, imo, slightly inappropriate! His music was Smooth Criminal (good choice) with a lot of MJ dancing...including the iconic crotch-grap-hip-thrust! Considering how young he his (11 or 12, I can't remember) I didn't think it was appropriate and if I don't like it when Joubert does it, I'm not going to like it when a child does it either! I didn't watch much more...it wasn't exciting like it was last year!

I agree it was not exciting and the mj program was in my opionion not one that would be well received by judges or the public could you imagine patrick chan skating that kind of program in junior.....

No, I couldn't. But I also think that Nam and Patrick have remarkably different styles. Nam tends to play more to the crowd and tends to have more outgoing programs. Patrick has more refined programs and tends to skate within himself a bit. The way Liam Firus skates reminds me a lot of Patrick. He has a smoothness about his skating that is just beautiful, IMO.

Yeah unfortunately Liam did not have a good skate. It wasn't only his jumps though, his spins were slower than usual. He'll redeem himself tomorrow in the free!

Nobunari withdrew, citing an injury. The men's SP was skated last night. It was won by Maciej Cieplucha, the Polish National Champion, who gave an interesting program with a 3/3, but popped his loop to a double, and I believe singled his axle.

Liam Firus was seond, Patrick Wong third.

Ronald Lam imploded, and skated as though his program and he were not yet ready for prime time. The sr ladies SP's I saw all were pretty terrible, with falls and pops on most of the jumps. The Jr Pairs long, sr men's long, ladies long and Sr pairs long will be skated today, and are available on skatebuzz as streaming video live.

Not only did Liam spin slowly, he didn't get the levels for his spins.

Liam should feel really good about that skate. It was awesome! 3/3 and 2A/3T to boot! He did double a few jumps, but he has definitely proved that he is one to look out for!

The archived programs number some 11 or 12 pages. To see them, click on "ecoachsoftwarestreaming" near the bottom of the page. There are 358 videos. They are organized in several sessions, now seen on the right hand side of the page. Click on any one of them. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and you will be able to scroll though all the videos.

I have heard that there are some mislabelling errors on younger skaters.

But it's a great effort by the section to get all of this up!
