Share with us your helpful hints. I have a million of them but I will start with just one. To keep your cereal from going soggy too quickly, freeze the cereal. Actually, I keep the bowl in the freezer and keep the milk as cold as possible.

Use those thick rubber bands that you get around broccoli bunches to help open stubborn bottle tops (such as ketsup or jam jars).

Any time you don't use a whole onion, chop up the rest and put them into a freezer bag and freeze them. Then you can use the frozen onions in casseroles, etc.

I use those perfumed inserts in magazines as sachets in dresser drawers (and not just for lingerie )

If you're travelling and listening to a personal tape/CD player and the batteries start to go, swap them over. They last a little bit longer!
