Elise MONTANER and Linus Colmor JEPSEN are Ice Dancers who represent France.

Elise Montaner was born on 16th February 2001.

Linus Colmor Jepsen was born on 16th March 2001 in Copenhagen, Hovedstaden, Denmark.


This is going to be a slightly different Fan Fest. There is already a thread about Linus’ Singles career. So, rather than repeat everything here, the additional OP in this thread will focus on Elise.

Consequently, rather than having just one “Original Post”, this Fan Fest has two!

Master's De Patinage Short Dance: Results; Protocols

Elise and Linus finished 6th out of 7 in the SD, with a score of 56.70.

Like with the Ondrej Nepela Memorial, the livestreaming for the Master's was on Vimeo, so I did not see any of it LIVE. And so far, no video has been uploaded.


Analysis to be edited in when I get the opportunity to look through the protocols.


Elise and Linus are currently 6.31 points behind 5th position, Lou TERREAUX / Noe PERRON (LSG-LYON / BEL-ASM), and 6.42 points ahead of 7th position, Mariia ALIEVA / Mathieu COUYRAS (LSG-LYON).

With gaps of this size on either side of them, it is difficult to see them finishing anywhere other than their current position. However, ice is slippery; anything can happen. It would be a major coup for a brand new partnership to overtake Terreaux / Perron, who I for one expected to be higher than 5th after the SD. So, Elise and Linus have that as an incentive in the Free.

Elise and Linus finished 6th out of 6 in the FS, with a score of 90.78. This meant that they remained in 6th place overall, with a score of 147.48.


Analysis to be edited in when I have the opportunity to write it.


Elise and Linus finished the Free Skate 8.32 points behind 5th position, Lou TERREAUX / Noe PERRON (LSG-LYON / BEL-ASM), and 12.42 points behind 4th position, Natacha LAGOUGE / Arnaud CAFFA (VSC-Vitry). Overall, they finished 14.63 points behind 5th position, Terreaux / Perron, and 22.81 points ahead of 4th position, Marie DUPAYAGE / Thomas NABAIS (VLP-VILL/VSC-Vitry).

Although they finished in penultimate position, we should not judge them by that. All the partnerships ahead of them were far more experienced. There were only 2 new partnerships in Villard De Lans, and Elise and Linus were comfortably ahead of the other new partnership in the SD before that partnership withdrew before the FD.

So, not a bad debut at all. And we don't have long to wait for them to make their international debut, as they will be competing at the Trophée Métropole Nice Côte D'Azur.

Can't wait to actually see them!

Elise and Linus finished 7th out of 10 in the SD, with a score of 56.01.


Analysis to be edited in when I re-watch the programme with the protocols.


Elise and Linus are currently 2.68 points behind 6th position, Elisabetta LECCARDI / Mattia DALLA TORRE (ITA), and 13.47 points ahead of 8th position, Arianna SASSI / Luca MORINI (CHE). The other Italian partnership, Victoria MANNI / Carlo RÖTHLISBERGER, in 5th position are 5.94 points ahead of Elise and Linus.

With that large a gap behind them, it would take a disaster for Elise and Linus to drop any places. There is a chance to move up, though, at the expense of either one or both Italian partnerships.

This is where it becomes difficult for me, because Leccardi / dalla Torre are also my kids! So, what I am hoping for is for both partnerships to have good Free Dances so that they can get ahead of Manni / Röthlisberger. And then they can sort the actual order out between themselves.

Elise and Linus finished 8th out of 11 in the SD, with a score of 53.04.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

THE AUDIENCE FELL FOR THE DJ TRAP!!!

But, after the masssive cheer they give my kids when they did eventually finish, I won't hold a bit of premature clapping against them.

First of all, you can't beat a bit of Santana!

Secondly, the skating was absolutely fantastic!!!

I've been a fan of Linus and his sisters for a few years now. But, I am really impressed with Elise. For somebody who before this season had not competed for SEVEN years, i.e. since she was in Advanced Novice Singles, she is an absolute natural Ice Dancer.

These two are stars in the making And I really hope they stick together for the long haul.

Elise and Linus are currently 0.12 points behind 7th position, Charlotte LAFOND-FOURNIER / Richard Kang In KAM (NZL), and 2.65 points ahead of 9th position, Hanna JAKUCS / Alessio GALLI (NLD). There is a 5.26 point gap ahead of the Kiwi partnership to 6th position, Leia DOZZI / Pietro PAPETTI (ITA).

Being realistic, Elise and Linus have the possibility of moving up one place, but are unlikely to move up any further. But, they have to be careful as the Dutch partnership is within striking distance. So, Elise and Linus need to make sure they put in a good Free Skate.

And I hope they do!

Unfortunately, Elise and Linus were one of many Ice Dance partnerships to withdraw from the Bosphorus Cup.

In fact, apart from Lou TERREAUX / Noe PERRON, all the partnerships representing France at both Junior and Senior level withdrew.

All being well, the next time we see them will be in a couple of weeks at Nationals.

Elise and Linus finished 5th out of 6 in the SD, with a score of 51.01.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

They got out of sync on the second set of Twizzles. But, everything else was faultless in my eyes!

I just cannot get over how good these two are so early into their career together. They are going to be causing upsets for some of the more experienced partnerships that are still to come.

They score 51.01 points. But, as they are the first partnership to go, we will have to wait and see how that is.

Although I haven't seen the rest of the programmes as I had to leave to eat straight after Elise and Linus, I honestly couldn't see anything wrong with the programme to justify them being in penultimate position. But, looking at the protocols, I see they got a point deducted for an extended lift. So, that didn't help.

Elise and Linus are currently 14.58 points behind 4th position, Lou TERREAUX / Noe PERRON (LSG / LSG), and 2.88 points ahead of 6th position, Marie DUPAYAGE / Thomas NABAIS (VILLA / VITSC).

Unfortunately, with a gap that big in front of them, I think we have to resign ourselves that 5th is the best that Elise and Linus can come out of this with. They are never going to catch their LSG team-mates, or anybody else. However, they still have to put in as best a skate as they can in the Free Dance, as Dupayage / Nabais are within striking distance.

Oh, it's at times like this that I hate the way that reputation seems to play a part in Ice Dance. Because it means that new partnerships don't get stand a chance. And although I am not an expert, I thought what they did in the Short looked great!
