Extra wide foot, heel pain: which boot could work?

I would like to do figure skating in a club, so I bought Edea Overture 255 in width C. Unfortunately, I can't wear the boots for five minutes without my heel hurting completely, and then a little later, the ball of my foot starts to hurt too. Later, they also become numb or tingly. I went to a specialist store to buy the boots, but they only stock Edea. Therefore, I tested the same shoes in width E, but unfortunately, the heel also started hurting after a few minutes. The ball of my foot was better. I have an Egyptian foot with a normal arch, but very wide (25cm circumference). I am 166 cm tall and weigh about 60 kilos. Can anyone recommend a shoe or a brand, and do you know any sellers here in Germany?

I live on the west coast of Canada and know nothing about availability in Germany, but are you able to get to another skate shop that stocks a variety of boot brands, and employs a professional fitter who can advise you? Different companies' boot designs suit different shapes of feet. I have very narrow feet with very high arches, for instance, and Risport boots fit me best. Obviously something about the design of Edeas isn't a good match for your feet, but a different brand could be ideal and solve your pain problem. Good luck!

Hi and welcome. You need to see a fitter, you should have never been put in an edea.

You're going to need Jackson, Risport, you may be able to also fit Graf.

Yes, I have been to a fitter, but they only sell edea boots. I went there yesterday for the second time to try on the shoe in a wider size, but that didn't work either and unfortunately they don't sell any other brands so she couldn't make a recommendation.

Thank you for your response and for sharing your experience. Unfortunately, so far I have only found shops that distribute one or a maximum of two brands. But I will continue to search so that I can find something suitable.

The Risport Royal line is similar (not exactly) to edea. The RF line is not. Try that line of boots like RF3Pro. Good luck!

I also have an "Egyptian" foot (I think -- a steep slant down from the big toe to the smallest?) and my Risport boots are from the RF line. Jacksons fitted me for many years, but they changed their last and now aren't comfortable for that foot shape.

Hey,you might try the shop in Frankfurt. I know they sell Risport, since @Friday bought hers there. I have a wide ball and narrow heel, and find the Risport RF3 too wide for my heel. I can send you a longer list of shops in Germany and Austria as well, by PM.

As @emilinkaa mentioned, I think the shop in Frankfurt would be your best bet for Risport.
They really care to help you with your feet and try their best to heatmold/punch out/ stretch the boot until the customer is satisfied.

The best option for an appointment is either calling or sending them a quick text via Whatapp/Email. Calling around midday (before their first appointment spots) is the best time to get somebody on the phone.

Talk with them about your feet a bit and mentioned that you had problems with boots or dificult feet - that will almost always ensure you get the competent fitter and not the guy who sells beginners Risport Antares.

Just be wary about their sharpenings as they botched my new blades the second time I let them sharpen there...
