Since several posters have expressed an interest in having a preview of the Nebelhorn Ice Dance Event, here it is:
ICE DANCE
VIENNESE WALTZ IS THE NEBELHORN CD
The most exciting thing about this is that the Seniors will not have competed the Viennese CD in a long time, while the Juniors had it last year. That may favor Samuelson/Bates in the CD a little bit. Here's my reference file on the dance, a favorite of mine.
I particularly like Rahkamo & Kokko's Viennese Waltz OD for a really good expression of the dance on ice. A video of it is contained in the reference here:

Emily Samuelson and Evan Bates's score at Jr. Worlds 2008, where they won the World Championship, was 181.66, which is the highest personal best here at Nebelhorn. However, at US Nationals, they finished behind Jane Summersett and Todd Gilles in the FD because of a mistake S&B made there. S&G had fallen in the CD, placing 10th there, and had to be amazing to recover to 6th place overall, 4th in the FD. Summersett and Gilles have Chris Dean doing some of their choreography, and his OD for them last year to "Brother Where Art Thou? was just wonderful. It can still be viewed on Icenetwork. The Zaretskis really made a leap in skills last year, since they have been coached by Galit Chait. They scored 179.21 at the Senior World Championships to finish 9th overall.
Those would be my choices for the three medals, with Karam & O'Keefe and Zlobina & Sitnikov with a chance to sneak in for the bronze if any of the top 3 teams falter. I'd guess, and it is a wild stab indeed, that the Hermann's, having the home ice advantage, might grab 6th place, to fill out my top six picks.
