Longevity in professional sport is one thing to admire, but looking at Italians in general - even at Valentina in this very case - they are often looking much younger than their age says:laugh::)

Another statistic:

According to the planned content sheets, these will be the total quads attempted (solo or in combo) by 19 different skaters:

QUADSPFSTOTAL
4Lz459
4F112
4Lo000
4S4711
4T142337
TOTAL233659

NOTES:
Yaroslav PANIOT (UKR) is the sole European attempting 4F.
Larry LOUPOLOVER (AZE) is the only non-Russian attempting 4Lz.

No one likes 4Lo.

Kostner is a skating legend. Such a pity that the second legend Aljona will not compete.

The youngest pair skater is already 24 years old! In contrast to indiviual skating, pair skater is developing more and more into a real senior sport. Duhamel, Radford, Savchenko, Marchei, Hotarek, James, Zhang, all over 30.

I don't know why you say "real senior sport"
If the skaters are above the age limit and are competing well, then they are real senior skaters.
Zagitova can be a real senior skater at 15. If Kostner would get some better tech content, she could be a real senior skater at 31.

Fun fact, the winners are the same as at IdF 2017 in Grenoble. Hint for the Olympics? ;)

Thanks Lyssa!

I didn't realize that it was already the 12th Europeans for Javier Fernandez. In 2007 he finished 28th

I think Javier's story is the most inspiring for skaters who are so low that they don't make the free skate. Most top skaters these days arrive freshly out of juniors and are already top ten material and skate into the medals quite quickly, but it doesn't have to be that way. You can grow even at 18 or 19. There is still time.
