Used Blades--opnions?

I'm considering buying new blades secondhand, because of the high cost of new dance blades. I'm wondering what the general thought on that is--it seems like a good way to save some money, provided the blades have a lot of sharpenings left in them. I'm planning to ask at the pro shop at our club as I trust the owner of the shop not to rip me off with overused blades, but I'm still kind of leery. Still, I want dance blades, rather than the bottom-of-the-barrell freestyles I have now, and new ones are very pricey.
