Estonia’s Arlet Levandi is ready to pull double duty for the upcoming 2023-24 figure skating season. If not selected for Grand Prix assignments, he will compete on the Junior Grand Prix circuit. He also hopes to compete at any Challenger Series events as well as the 2024 World Junior Figure Skating Championships.

The skater placed in the top 10 at the 2023 World Junior Figure Skating Championships this season and is one of the brightest and most talented newcomers that has emerged over the past two years. This was his sophomore year competing as a senior on the international scene in which he participated in three Challenger Series events. The national bronze medalist also took gold at both the 2023 Volvo Open Cup and Tallink Hotels Cup.

The 17-year-old from Tallinn has been receiving a great deal of recognition for his very artistic and mature skating. He earned all-new season bests and reached a remarkable seventh place at his senior Grand Prix debut in Espoo. Additionally, he performed his own self-choreographed routine at Junior Worlds to a sophisticated piece by Stromae who he holds in high regard.

The skater is also the son of Anna Levandi (née Kondrashova), a former two-time Olympian, 1984 World silver medalist, and four-time European bronze medalist in figure skating. His father, Allar Levandi, is a Nordic combined skier and 1988 Olympic bronze medalist.

The journey to Junior Worlds in Calgary in February 2023 was very special to the family as his parents met there back in 1988.

In this interview we get to know Levandi better as he talks about his path into skating, being coached by his mother, his music from the past season, and his idols in the sport. He also shares his plans and process moving ahead into the next season. We also learn about his hobbies, long-term prospects, how his jumps are coming, what he would like to study, and where he got his excellent English skills.
