SUMMARY:2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games - Figure Skating
DESCRIPTION:2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games – Figure Skating\n\nThe 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be held Jan 19 – Feb 1\, 2024\, in Gangwon\, South Korea. It is an international multi-sport event organized by the International Olympic Committee in which the games are held every four years. The games are staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format\, though in reverse order with Winter Games held in leap years instead of Summer Games. \nIn the four individual events\, the competing athletes will skate in both a short program (or rhythm dance) and a free skate (or free dance). Due to the number of athletes competing\, there will be no cut and all athletes will skate in both segments\, receiving scores based on their technical elements (TES) and their presentation and performance (PCS). \nMeanwhile\, the team event will feature only a maximum of eight teams; not all four individual segments need to be skated. Only the best three scores will count\, meaning teams with entrants in only three of the four individual events are able to qualify for the team event. No short program (or rhythm dance) will take place\, with only the long programs being skated. Points will be awarded on a sliding scale per segment\, with eight points for the top team going down to one point. DESCRIPTION:2024 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships\n\nThe 2024 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships will take place January 30 – February 4\, 2024\, in Shanghai\, China. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is one of the four (World\, Europeans\, and World Junior Championships) annual figure skating competitions designated “ISU Championships.” Skaters must belong to a non-European member nation of the ISU to compete and must be at least sixteen before July 1 preceding the event. \nSkaters/teams participating in the 2024 ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships must have reached the required Minimum Total Elements Scores during the ongoing season (2023/24) or the immediately preceding season (2022/23) \nThe Minimum Technical Elements Score (not including Component Scores) is a Technical Score and must have been reached in an ISU recognized International Competition (as per Article 39\, paragraph 7 of the ISU Constitution and Rule 107\, paragraphs 1 to 10 of the ISU General Regulations) during the ongoing or preceding season in both segments\, Short Program/Rhythm Dance and Free Skating/Free Dance (See ISU Special Regulations Single & Pair Skating Ice Dance\, Rule 378\, paragraph 3). \nWhile the Minimum Technical Elements Score must be reached separately in each segment (not a total of the two segments)\, the Minimum Technical Elements Score for each segment may be reached at different competitions.
