DESCRIPTION:2026 Junior Grand Prix Xi’an\nThe 2026 JGP Xi’an is the first of seven events in the 2026–27 ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series and takes place August 20–22\, 2026\, in Xi’an\, China. Top junior skaters from around the world will compete for points that determine qualification for the Junior Grand Prix Final in December 2026. \nThis event will feature the Singles & Pair skating and Ice Dance disciplines and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations\, the ISU Special Regulations\, and relevant ISU Communications. \nThrough this pathway\, the JGP helps develop emerging elite athletes\, many of whom go on to compete at the World Junior Figure Skating Championships. \nEligibility\nTo be eligible for the JGP\, skaters must meet specific age requirements. In particular\, competitors must be at least 13 years old before July 1 of the competition season. However\, the upper age limit varies by discipline: single skaters must not have reached age 19\, while ice dancers and female pair skaters may be up to 21\, and male pair skaters up to 23. \nIn addition\, skaters are selected by their respective national federations. The number of entries allocated to each ISU member in each discipline is determined by results from the previous World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
