Werner Rittberger (14 July 1891 – 12 August 1975) of Germany invented the Loop jump (called the “Rittberger” by many Europeans) in 1910. He won the German Nationals eleven times between 1911 and 1928 as well as the silver medal at the World Figure Skating Championships in 1910, 1911, and 1912.
