With all this blocking and deleting videos ISU is actually harming the sport. How is Figure Skating going to reach bigger audience and new fans when there isn't a way for people to watch it? TV channels are actually buying the rights to the events and not even showing them or they show like 20 minutes of a 3h competition.

When the hell will the ISU wake up in the 21st century? So frustrating. :(

I have to agree. I understand the rights issues but honestly the access is terrible. I pay for Ice Network and the videos often won't load, take forever to stream, aren't accessible over other devices (like my phone), etc etc. It's frustrating! I just want to share one or two videos with friends and family to show them our favorites and I go though a lot of effort to find a youtube link and then by the time they go to watch it the video is pulled. There needs to be a better way!

My thoughts exactly when I tried watching the clips on youtube and everything was blocked :sad4: It's frustratingly difficult to find any channels that show figure skating competitions. This sport is going to die without fans!! :(

In 2016 I remember running home from work and only being able to catch the last four teams of the free dance at Worlds on NBC, which I taped on my old VCR knowing it would never replay. No on demand, not even some kind of "pay $5 for a recording of ladies highlights" deal, and nothing on YouTube till quite a bit later. I'll say this much for the current US coverage, at least the Olympic channel has been replaying events at different times regularly for people who don't have the option of watching live. However that still leaves people without cable tv out of luck.

Yes it needs to be easier to watch figure skating. I also pay for icenetwork but have hardly used it this season because it has been so bad. The isu stream is allmost allways blocked in europe due to eurosport bying all the rights. And often not showing all of the skaters but just a supercut of the top5. And all of the streams that are free are getting better and beter to detect vpns so you cant watch using them either :( All im saying is that fans will get tired of it is this hard. I will most likely sitll struggle to watch everything but a lot of people probably wont

there will always be a Chinese fan stream that doesn't need vpn :agree:
