Eeek some streaming issues.

Mine has been behaving itself.

Enjoyed the Dutch skaters yesterday, so was surprised that they were last. But, hey, somebody has to be!

They were not far behind the Belorussian partnership ahead of them, so they might make up a place today.

Not sure how they felt about these FD scores, as they were very well covered up! Better safe than sorry! ;)

Now That's What I Call Music!

"Moonlight Sonata" with wind effects (eh?!), going into a really epic version of Beethoven's "5th Symphony".

I would give Karina SIDARENKA / Maksim YALENICH the Gold Medal just for the music choices! But, I might demote them to Silver due to the wind effects. (What was their purpose?!)

It was very big music, but they seemed to cope well with it.

They maintain their lead.

As illuminating as it is to watch skaters in K&C, I miss watching program replays. But am grateful to Skating Union of Belarus to enable watching via YT

That's certainaly a peculiar music choice for the Turkish couple.
This is an Italian anti-fascist resistance folk song.

All this group just missed the Worlds minimum TES which is 47.
Yesterday the panel was quite generous and everybody achieved the RD minimums. I thought it would have been more difficult for these couples to reach the RD minimums than FD. Oh well, it turned up the opposite.

Loved the music from Yuliia ZHATA / Berk AKALIN. But, what on Earth were they wearing?!

He was in red trousers and a red shirt (with a black stripe where the buttons are). She was wearing a black bra, black shorts and a black bodysuit over it made of the same marerial as tights (I'm not a fashion expert, so that's the best I can describe it!)

Seeing these awful costumes just reminds me how I miss Agafonova / UƧar. They always looked amazing!

That said, the skating was good. And they maintained their lead.

Interesting to see that so far the results from the FS have been exactly the same as in the SP. And gaps between each of the partnerships has only increased very slightly from what they were after the SP. Which is a reflection of the fact that there is less than 1.5 points covering them in the FS results!

Thank you for providing us with that insight. Us non-Italians would never have realised that.

Mmmm. Interesting. Feel sorry for them on the TES front. Because they all look promising. But, I suspect they might get more opportunities, as I doubt that Worlds will happen, in March anyway.

Right, my computer started misbehaving for a long time about 30 seconds into Paulina RAMANAUSKAITE / Deividas KIZALA. And, since they are one of the partnerships I specifically wanted to see, I wound back to the start of them when the computer settled down. So, I am now 3 minutes behind.

Just looked at the live scoring, and realised that Paulina RAMANAUSKAITE / Deividas KIZALA have ended the pattern of maintining similar gaps. They have extended their advantage over Yuliia ZHATA / Berk AKALIN from 2 points to 10 points.

Onto the next partnership, and why was Viktoria SEMENJUK wearing her nightie? :p

In all seriousness, that was an enjoyable programme from Viktoria SEMENJUK / Ilya YUKHIMUK.

And they too extend their advantage from what they had in the SP!

Julia WAGRET / Pierre SOUQUET only had a slight advantage over Viktoria SEMENJUK / Ilya YUKHIMUK in the SP. But, I am not sure whether this FS will enable them to stay ahead.

But it did. In fact, it extended it to around 4.5 points.

This could be significant, as Daria POPOVA / Volodymyr BYELIKOV were not that far ahead of them.

I was scared throughout that routine. And all because of what Daria was wearing. She had a black one-piece swimsuit style thing on. Which was fine. But then she had this very loose white thing made of tights material on top. And it was flapping all over the place. And I was terrified that it was going to catch on something, and do them harm.

No, she needs to change that costume. For her and her partner's safety.

Due to being in constant fear of something going wrong, I didn't really get the opportunity to enjoy the actual skating.

But, they ended up winning overall by 2 points.

OK, before we go onto the Singles skating, I decided to look into something.

Yesterday, I was impressed with the skating in the Interclub Senior Ladies SP. And, passed comment about where they would have slotted into the main ISU competition.

So, out of curiosity, I have constructed combined SP results tables for those categories that had 2 competitions. And they are very interesting.

Of course, I know that they don't mean anything. But, they are still interesting to look at.

Hope this helps

:)Alexsandra. Lovely black dress and skate. And I love how she gets right up from a fall, almost like it's choreographed.

Sigh! Because of trying to sort out the formatting in the Junior Ladies table in that last post, I didn't get commenting about the first skater.

Well, we kicked off with 2 Belorussian girls. And they both put in good performances.

There was a massive gap between their scores in the SP, and a similar massive gap between their scores in the FS. So, no change in positions.

Maia. Pretty dress and a lovely program. It's a pity about the falls, because she is a really good skater.

Maia MAZZARA did the same when she had her first fall. :)

Unfortunately, she couldn't manage it so elegantly for her second fall. šŸ˜ž

Well, Maia and Aleksandra matched each other on the fall count. And there was roughly 3.5 points between then in the SP. So, it could go either way.

But, on the whole, I'm going for Maia.
