Well it finally happened. We figured here on the West Coast if January was nothing but rain, rain and more rain we may as well set some records and we did! January broke the record for the most rain fall since 1992:

Greater Vancouver sets rain record for January
February 01, 2006 - 3:33 pm
By: Evan Kelly and Russ Lacate

"It is amazing that the whole Lower Mainland did not just float away over the course of the last month as we had more rain in the last 31 days than any other January on record. The wettest January ever in Vancouver saw just over 283 millimetres of rain, edging out the old record of 281 set back in 1992. Just to put that into perspective, that equals almost a full foot of water. The new record is thanks to 29 out of 31 days of rain for January which itself is also a record. Meteorologist Russ Lacate forecasts February will be much different and predicts seven of the month's first 10 days will be dry."

It is now February 1st and guess what? More rain!!!! Will someone please turn off the tap? A little sun would be nice - I am starting to forget what the sun looks like.

:sheesh:
