I heard that he IS going to continue skating AND that he is going to compete for the country of Azerbaijan next season which is the real reason why he has been MIA this season. Its an offical rule of the ISU that skaters must sit out an entire season before competing/representing another country.

But that is just what I heard but its from FSU, I just want to know if anyone else has anything else?

Doesn't he already have dual citizenship? Why doesn't he just compete for Russia?

He'd probably have even less success there. I know the men's filed isn't quite what it was, but Russia would still be a tough country to compete in. He might as well stay in Canada.
