Except that the body in the entrance to the jump is sure not a flip.
c'mon bodies are different with different skaters. So the jump is judged on the way the body looks at the entrance and not the edge? Does that include an attempted quad without a downgrade?

The jump is judged on a combination of edge, trajectory/curve into the jump, body position, rotation vs. counterrotation.

I don't know of any difference between a 2Flutz, 3Flutz, and 4Flutz (apart from number of revolutions), except that there have been minimal 4Lutz attempts, possible all of them by Michael Weiss, who has a solid outside edge on his lutzes. I don't know of anyone who has tried a 4Flip, but, again, I don't know of any difference between a 4Lip, 3Lip, and 2Lip.

I also have never heard of anyone doing a Toe with an outside edge, possibly because of the standard entrance (is it called a 3-turn?). I suppose that would be a Tulip. However, a pre-rotated toe, most often seen in combination, can turn into a toe-axel if the pre-rotation is severe.

Really? Go look at Cohen's Flutz and her Flip - from what i can see her body position is exactly the same for both jumps. In fact about 2 seconds before she jumps, the jumps are actually identical in every way including the wobbles on her edges. Her body is in exactly the same position and everything. The only difference between the two jumps is that she enters the flutz from the LI mohawk, cross in front entrance and the flip from the LFI toe assisted three turn, once on the left foot both jumps are identical.

Everyone does a toe loop from an outside edge - the take off for a toeloop is a RBO edge with a left toe assist for anticlockwise spinners (reverse for clockwise spinners).

A toeloop jumped from the RBI edge is called a toe whalley.

Many skaters (mostly female) will do a prerotated toe off (1/2 turn) in combo and can also look like a strange waltz jump if there is trouble making more than a half rotation.

Oh how I miss the Walley and even a toe Walley would be welcomed. The Walley had so much rhythm to it. A very pretty and exciting jump.

I think it is much too difficult for the flutzers of today.

Not really. Sarah Hughes had a bad flutz and a good walley.

I thought it was the opposite -- takeoff and landing on the inside edge. Thank you for the correction.

If I was in charge of the ISU Stephane would get the scores he deserves finaly rather then having judges continue to find ways to cheat him out of scores. Others would also get the scores they deserve.

I read somewhere that Gruetter has filed an official protest, which is supposed to be taken up at the next ISU Congress. So you may get your wish.
