Interesting ...
I just saw a promo on NBC for the show "Las Vegas" and it said that Sasha Cohen will be a "special guest" on next Friday's episode.

I have never watched this show - but I think I may need to set up the DVR to see Sasha's acting skills in action.

Here is a screen capture from it, and Here she is yucking it up with costars, Josh Duhamel and Jerry O'Connell off camera.

Sasha rocks. She is already as pretty as a movie star. I think she'll do great.

What is this TV series about, anyway?

I agree. Sasha is very pretty and the camera loves her.

As to the show iIt takes place in a Casino in Vegas. It stars James Caan as the owner. It is sort of along the lines of the Love Boat where all the plot lines involve the patrons of the casino and the people who work there.

She can't do any worse than Tara
It is virtually impossible to tell if Tara is a good actress or not. So far, she has certainly been as good as any of the regular performers on the programs she's been on...unfortunately, with shows like "Touched By An Angel," "7th Heaven" and "Still Standing," that's not saying much.

what channel is this 7th heaven even on??
:disagree: You don't want to know. It's the most poorly written, badly acted show in the history of television. The entire cast look like magazine models and deliver their lines in a robotic manner. It's supposed to dish out some sort of moral message each week, but the only point it really makes is that when it comes to getting work in Hollywood, looks apparently are everything.

the problem with Tara is she is typecasted. She's a small lady with a little girl's voice. She definitely is ok in small roles in the teenybopper movies. How long it will take her to do Meryl Streep like roles is not answerable at the moment.

Most great actors studied their craft seriously long before they got 'that' break. Sonia Henie made many movies. What did you think of her acting skills?

I think that I may have seen some of her movies, but don´t remember anything about her acting skills. Was she better or worse than Esther Williams?

Not surprising. I think of it as a show that many teenyboppers at my high school used to watch.

Looks seem to be everything nowadays...you don't need much acting talent or singing talent to hit it big it seems...and even if you do but don't have the looks you likely won't be successful. I can see looks being a factor onscreen since you are being SEEN, but I'm not sure I understand it being a factor in music. But that's off topic

Back in Sonia's acting days, the most important item for any actor was to have a good speaking voice. Many of the silent actors had very bad speaking voices and were summarily not marketable on the big screen. A few, Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Susan Hawyard (just a few) could command the screen with ther voices and their physical presence.

Sonia Henie has a screen presence and could speak and act. She never had a really deep dramatic role and was not expected to. She was beautiful and entertained the audience. She also had the skating medals. In the days before television, seeing a skater was a rarity, People crowded into the movie theaters for entertainment

Back to the old days of movie making, all actors had to have voice lessons. Anyone wonder why most movies made in the US between 1925 and 1945 were spoken with an British-ish accent and had perfect diction.

Has anyone listened to and watched Sasha speak ? Forget about whether or not she can act. Thousands of girls are photogenic, this does not an actress make.

I do not believe acting is really Sasha's dream-goal. More like something those thousands of girls fantasize about. The competetion is too tough.

Have you ever watched "Gilmore Girls"? Listen to Rory talk...MUCH worse than Sasha. Not that I think Sasha can make it in acting...its all about who you know...
