Thanks for the links! ice-dance.com has done a great job! I've been following the events, in particular the Senior Dance, as British boy Jamie Whyte [former Junior Dance Champion, and pupil of Marika Humphreys] was taking part with new partner Katrina Reyes. Great photos from Michelle Wojdyla.
Lake Placid is synonymous with the 1980 Olympics for me, would love to visit there one day. :)

BTW, slightly off topic, but for German/European icedance fans, there's an interesting update on the site from former competitor Jennifer Goolsbee.

[Jennifer Goolsbee & Hendryk Schamberger were German National Champions during the 90s, and competed at Euros, Worlds, and the 94 Olympics, trained at Oberstdorf by Martin Scotnicky.
Jennifer is now married, with a son and daughter, and coaches in Colorado.]

A great start for Davis and White. They make their senior debut at Skate Canada in November (but the podium is probably out of reach for them, since they face Dubreuil & Lauzon, Virtue & Moir and Faiella & Scali), and then NHK.

The sweep of the golds was cemented after Davis and White won all three phases of the compulsory dance competition – the Westminster Waltz, Rhumba and Golden Waltz – by more than five points. The final gold looked to be in doubt after White took an uncharacteristic fall on the first pattern of the Golden Waltz, landing a level 4 belly flop near center ice. Amazingly, he was up in an instant and never let the interruption disrupt his rhythm.

(Even more amazing was the 0 GOE given by one of the judges instead of the mandatory –2 minimum for such a fall.)
 In a recent interview Michelle says that her coach always taught her to jump right up after a fall and pretend that nothing happened. Since many of the judges are "elderly" maybe they will be caught having a senior moment and not notice.

MM :)

Okay, I'm officialy am Mombo #9 fan....who is this woman and does she have ANY idea that she could make some serious money off her talent? (maybe even enough to pay for 1 hour of coaching (3 coaches at $85 and hour) or <gasp> 1 season's worth of costums!!!!
