It's quite amazing. I don't think there is any worry about the future of US skating! Congratulations to all those talented, hard-working young athletes!

Caroline Zhang is on a pace to match her scores of 162.43 at Mexico City and 162.42 at Taipei (how's that for consistency?) :)

It's kind of what was expected.

Now the only two boys I saw last year was Steven and Tommy. Although they were in different level competitions, I was just watching to decide whom I thought would be more the next big thing in US Men's fs.

Steven for me is the technical guy. Tommy is the musical guy. JMO.

However, looking at the SP results it seem like Steven is the better of the two, maybe

The Dance results so far are nip and tuck

The pcs seem to have huge impact in the junoir men. If one ranks them in order by tes you get some thing completely different.

Now wait just a doggone minute. Caroline Zhang got 1.62 points again? I know we are looking for consistency in the judging, but what are the odds?

So Caroline is twenty points better than everyone else in the junior world. Bring on Rachael!

Caroline is incredible. When I first saw her at last year's Nats, I couldn't help but think of her as the future of US Ladies, and she only did doubles, but there was something about her that showed the passion for skating I couldn't resist. I know she is not ready for the big time but when she gets there, it will no longer be the Japanese Ladies, imo.

Ashley Wagner, btw, is an excellent figure skater and look how far she was behind in points.

Hard to believe Tommy did so poorly in PCS scores when he is a natural musical type. Unfortunately, he is not one of the good looking boys and his body is quite thin. It has been scientifically proven that good looks are a must for success. I believe that, and a quad helps too.:agree:

Tommy did fine in PCS, finishing a close second in both the SP and the LP. It was his tech scores that did him in.

Yep. It looks like the boy couldn't recover from his fall on the triple axel. I wish I could see the programs. The male standings had a complete switcheroo from short to long.

Someone posted above that he was way down in PCS scores. I just took that for granted without checking.
But nerves, nerves, nerves may get to him. I haven't seen him skate but once before.
