Fumie probably had a mistake of some kind. Asada and Ando were always going to make it though, Fumie was fighting for that last spot and she might not get it after all.

What is going on with Fumie ?
???? Hunh, Miki didn't skate well as her birthday approached either. I doubt that has anything to do with it. I hope her mom isn't distracting her with talk of quitting and getting married too much. ????? Moms should always be respected, but they are not always right.

Mom might be "onto something" though, I still say she needs a "love interest" that is focused on skating as much as she - not quit and have babies:no: . Someone to love her for what she is giving, not what she gives up or gives instead. I think emotional inspiration from a new place in her heart would really show in her skating - and IMO emotion is such an important part of Fumie's skating. I just don't get the impression she has ever "tasted true love" outside of a "crush." But that is only a guess and likely some wishful thinking on my part.:p   I don't think there is a man out there that is worthy of her, and any guy to meet her (ah those lucky ...) is sure to see that right away. She ain't no trophy boys!!!!! Bla blaa...sorry

Is the Ladies LP today?

Fumie better get it together. No way I'd send Nakano or Onda to worlds anyday over Suguri.

Fumie's mistake in SP

According to FSU, Fumie underroated and stepped out of a 3F while other skaters skated clean skates

This explains why her TES is only the 9th best

Thanks ILA -

I only watched Yukina so far - first because I really like that gal. It's all so tecnical now for her. I hope she catches up to CoP.

The music is the very bravura piece Black Swan from Swan Lake. It requires a sexy attitude and crisp movements throughout. It needs work, but she is more of a White Swan.

I love Yukina Ota! She is really amazing, she didn't do a triple triple and she only opted for the salchow thus meriting a lower score! She has always been an artist but i think she didn't really let go with the music in this performance! It's amazing she can do so well after an absence of 3 years!

Congrats to Daisuke Takahashi and Nobunari Oda! They are both phenomenal! I think Daisuke may challenge JOubert for the Gold! THe ladies free skate is going to be something else! It's a cat fight in there

i just watched the ladies short program and they definitely brought the game on!

I love Mao Asada's SP phenomenal, there is something lacking in the connection with the music but overall a phenomenal program

Miki Ando is getting stronger and stronger! Consistency maybe the main concern in her part! I smell that she's going to win this!

Yukari Nakano, i think overall amazing skate! She was on fire during this program!

Mai Asada , Yoshie Onda, Yukina Ota and Fumie Suguri were all very good except for Fumie two footing the flip and having a shaky 2 toe loop during her 3 lutz combo! But overall excellent excellent excellent!

Daisuke Takahashi WOW! What a masterpiece! I think apart from Turandot, Aranjuez and Man In the Iron Mask this is one of Morozov's best programs! Brilliant

Thanks for the links -- I only watched Takahashi so far --- I guess the only criticism I can think of is the jumps are front loaded - but MAN does he skate!! He, IMHO, has the best arms and hands of any one, male or female, right now. And that footwork
