Could've sworn I heard it--at least once...
Maybe, I'm just hearing things!

I think you've heard her saying ".... dekiru YOUNI ganbatte " ( meaning " I will keep working to do....")
That's just a part of Japanese language and never be anyone's name.;)

I'm so glad Nicholas LaRoche is keeping Unchained Melody - really liked the program. Perhaps one of these years he'll be able to keep it all together for both programs and land on the podium:clap:

I hopw so. He is a very hard-working skater and has two really good programs this year. I would be one cloud nine of he snagged that third spot at nationals.
are there even three spots this year???

Oh, and an unspecified source told me that Meryl and Charlie will be using Russian folk music for their OD. They didn't specify the name of the music, so we'll see in time what it is...

I can't wait for Virtue and Moir. I LOVE both of those selections. what is the OD for this year then? last year it was latin.... i belive mostly the tango.

i heard some clips of the Ever After soundtrack. I see it is credited as "a Cinderella Story" so hopefully kimmie is going for the sweet, girl-next-door look here. Good for her, it might work well. I big diffrence from the Feeling begins.

I believe this year's OD is folk dance...

!!! I can't imagine it! This is the world's most made-fun-of operatic work. (Does anyone remember "No more Rice Krispies!")

I can't wait to see it!

Yep. I remember it! :)

Langlois and Hay's short music sounds familiar to me. Who used this before?

Love V/M, but very disappointed with their music selections. Both Dark Eyes and Umbrellas are tired.

At Ice Wars VI, by a strange coincidence Punsalan and Swalllow and Usova and Platov both used Umbrellas of Cherbourg.

But the best version of it was an exhibition that Punsalan and Swallow did on the Today show, outdoors at Rockefeller Center. Right at the end, when they were going to kiss hidden by the umbrella, a gust of wind sprung up and turned the umbrella inside-out. It was really cute, and everyone thought they had a trick umbrella and it was part of the act, but they said afterwords, no, they were as surprised as anyone.

BTW, the next pro event, 1999 World Pros, P&S used the same music, but Usova and Platov switched to ... Historie de un Amour. (Discoduck, maybe that's where you heard it before?) :)

Most famously, Berezhnaya & Sikharulidze used a sort-of symphonic version for their 1998 long program.

Also, speaking of Punsalan & Swallow, their 1995 freedance was a kind of light-hearted Soviet jazz medley (as I recall) that included this tune.
