According to an article on Russia's Sportcom.ru, 2006 World Junior Silver Medalist Natalia Mikhailova has formed a new on ice partnership with Andrei Maksimishin.

Mikhailova had competed many seasons with Arkadi Sergeev, but missed the most recent Russian National Championships and remainder of the 2006-2007 due to Sergeev's ankle injury. When he returned to the ice four months later, he had additional problems with his knee. It was uncertain when he would be able to be back no the ice.

Maksimishin's former partner, Anastasia Platonova, was forced to retire at the end of the 2006-2007 season due to back problems.

Mikhailova and Maksimishin will be coached by Alexander Zhulin, who relocated back to Russia from New Jersey in last summer.

Good luck to them.

I'm sorry that Platanova had an injury serious enough to need to retire. I really liked her at Skate Canada -- she had a real diva-ish air that is a lot of fun for ice dance. I hope Sergeev recovers and finds another partner.
