Wow, the Germans not even on the podium in pairs. That is a bold call.

Wow, the Germans not even on the podium in pairs. That is a bold call.

Perhaps a little too bold - they'd have to mess up their TECS pretty bad since the judges do like them.

My predictions:

Men -
G Takahashi
S Lysacek
B Weir

Ladies -
G Kim
S Asada
B Zhang (I have a feeling!)

Dance -
G Dom/Shab (YUCK!)
S Belbin/Agosto
B Virtue/Moir
......... and I think this will be the podium at Worlds, unfortunately for the French who I love and totally rock this year :(

Pairs -
G Zhang/Zhang (most consistent technical elements)
S Savchenko/Szolkowy
B Pang/Tong

Hmm...

Pairs
1. Savchenko & Szolkowy
2. Pang / Tong
3. Dube / Davison

Ladies
1. Asada
2. Zhang
3. Kim

Men
1. Lysacek
2. Lambiel
3. Takahashi

(I think the Men are really exciting, 4,5 out of the 6 have Quads, and (with the exception of vdPerren) all have good creative and artistic programs, but vdPerren still has the opportunity to kill them off with the technical content, all of them except for Lambiel, have proven that they can skate their programs well and mostly clean - I am so looking forward to the GPF!)

Hmm...

Ladies
1. Asada
2. Zhang
3. Kim

I think Zhang has already had her dose of luck in getting to the final (Kostner meltdown first, then poor performance of Meier and Ando meltdown - Wow! She definitely has been blessed with fortune!). Being second or even third would require again a HIGH dose of luck...and that's quite unlikely....But you never know, as I said the girl seems blessed.

Anyway my predictions are:

1st Kim
2nd Asada
3rd....Depends on Nakano. If she hits everything it's hers, otherwise Meissner could grab it. Zhang and Kostner should battle for the last two spots, if we see the same Kostner we have seen till now.
If Kostner suddendly leaves her nerves at home she might challenge effectively for the bronze spot.

Men:
1. Weir 234.67 (finally takes advantages of all jump combos, and higher levels)
2. Takahashi 232.11 (fall on quad and shaky triple axel)
3. Evan 229.05 (two foots the quad in both short and long, but gets the combination to a quad double in short, and quad single in long)

Pairs
1. Zhang & Zhang 201.34
2. Savchenko & Szolkowy 196.89
3. Pang & Tong 187.75

Ladies
1. Kim 195.89
2. Asada 189.22
3. Nakano 179.54

Dance
1. Domnina & Shabalin 203.44
2. Virtue & Moir Belbin 196.87( 2 & 3 might end up in reverse order, too close)
3. Delobel & Schoenfelder 196.83
4. Ben & Agosto 195.79

Grand Prix Final Predictions
Ladies:
Yu-na Kim-I do prefer her, but I"m putting her ahead of Mao because well her scores are just that much higher than Mao's and she has more jumps.. She still needs to hit everything or at least not pop a jump...

Mao Asada- She doesn't have the jump content Yu-na has. Even if she upgrades, I'm not sure if she'd be able to do it all at the Grand Prix Final. You never know though. Honestly, if it's a choice between Yu-na winning GPF or Yu-na winning worlds, I want Yu-na to win worlds. Also, Mao hasn't had a clean short program yet...And while Yu-na hasn't either, at least Yu-na hit her triple/triple in Russia...

Yukari Nakano- While right now Yukari's scores are clearly higher than the rest of the groups.. Still not sure though, what happens if Zhang hits her jumps?

Caroline Zhang-I think that Zhang will place ahead of Meissner mainly because Meissner seems to have real issues with her jumps. I think that if Zhang hits her jumps, she could perhaps take third, but I'm not sure if she will. She was consistent last year, but this year she seems to have some consistency problems.

Kimmie Meissner-she's been having jumping issues. Yes, I know she's a "late season skater" but she looked much better at Skate America last year, then she does this year.

Carolina Kostner-I think Kostner is quite talented.. But Carolina is a headcase and she's especially headcase when she skates in Italy....

If Kostner skated to her potential, she'd make the podium here and at worlds too. The problem is Kostner never skates to her potential, and while I've never been a fan, I've basically given up on her...Maybe she'll suprise me though...

Can't help but agree with you.

And there are so many skaters that would fit that description, e.g., I'll just mention Bebe because I like her but one has to let go sooner or later, and I don't want to mention others because it'll change the topic.
